(CNN) - On Saturday, a massive fire at the Kiss nightclub in southern Brazil killed at least 245 people.

“I died in Santa Maria today. Who did not? I died in the Andradas Street, 1925, in a choppy slope of smoke.

The smoke never was so dark in the Rio Grande do Sul state.  Never a cloud was so nefarious.

Not the most morbid and electrical storms desire the company of that cloud. It will always follow alone, like a page torn of a map.

The smoke has corrupted the sky forever. Blue now is gray. We grew dark on January 27, 2013.

The flames calmed down at 5:30, but death will never be controlled.

I died because I have a teenage daughter who delays to return home.

I died because I already went into a nightclub thinking on how I would come out in case of fire.

I died because I prefer to be near the stage, so I could see the band better.

I died because I confused the bathroom door with the emergency door.

I died because the fire never apologizes when it passes by.

I died suffocated by the excessive death. How to wake up again?

The building had not landed in the morning, like a runaway plane on the runway.

There was only one exit but the fear came from all sides.

Teenagers will not wake up at lunchtime. They will not remember anything or understand how suddenly they distanced themselves from the future.

More than 245 young people without the one last kiss of mother, father or siblings.

The phones still ring in the chest of the victims who are lying down on the floors of the Municipal Gymnasium.

Families are still looking for their children.  The college students are in silent mode from now on.

Nobody has the courage to answer the phone and tell what happened.

The words have lost their meaning.”
